My 2009 Kennebunkport wedding couple turned dear friends Susan and Jeff needed a last-minute image for their holiday card that would showcase their new furkid, Dusty, and newer kid, Willy. Our schedules intersected for 12 minutes (no joke) one Saturday morning when it was snowing and blowing sideways at Pine Point Beach in Scarborough, a favorite meet-up spot for walking our dogs together. While we quickly got some card-worthy captures where all four are looking ahead and smiling as is oft expected in a Christmas card (two traditionals below for good measure), there was just something about this shot above - and my friend Susan's unscripted happiness within it. I am grateful that my friends are so real, because it frees me to be.
