Alison and Steven's coastal Cape Neddick wedding was one I'd been looking forward to since the second I received Alison's inquiry in my inbox back in 2008! Set on the seaside grounds of one of New England's most graceful and distinctive venues, Greystone Manor, this wedding was made all the more memorable by the lengths the couple went to arrive in Cape Neddick for the weekend! For groom Steven, that meant step after step after step after step (times about four hundred gazillion to the third power) from Georgia to Maine, taking the long way to the wedding by walking the entire 2,175-mile Appalachian Trail to get there. He made it to Maine just in time to be picked up at Mount Katahdin by Alison, an admitted non-hiker who had spent the last six months designing every delightful detail of their day, from hand screen printing every single piece of paper their guests would get (invitation, rsvp card, venue map, menus, etc.) to selecting the songs that would be in the karaoke songbooks (yeah, they had karaoke instead of traditional dancing- how fun is that) and on the CDs they would distribute as favors to collecting the vintage crates that placecards and gifts would go in.
You can see how it all came together, and how much they and the 75 friends and family who made it to Maine amidst a Labor Day weekend hurricane enjoyed it by watching their slideshow featuring my photographs here. The couple ordered a 12 x 12 signature album, with a two-tone leather cover and 38 pages. It arrived to them during the holiday season and quickly found a good home in their new one in Oklahoma City! Before I sent it their way, I grabbed some photographs of it to share with you...
You saw the cover above, but here is a closer look at that lush leather and rugged, square spine.
And here is what you see when the book it open. Notice the thick, creased pages that lay flat.
Clients always compliment the color, clarity and crispness of the images on the album pages. See for yourself (and check out the paper products than Alison created!)
The creased pages allow me to design spreads like this that span two pages and are bisected by a barely-there gutter where they meet.
You may notice this is the second album in a row I've posted featuring a night-time shot of the seaside Sperry tent on its last page. It's such a sure sign of a classic, New England wedding and was an important to detail to both Alison & Steven and Lindsay & Pat.
