Lindsay and Patrick's coastal Cape Neddick wedding had all the makings of the marriages I love to photograph: a connected couple; an intimate audience of close friends and family; stunning, seaside setting; fun, personal details (popcorn for favors, anyone); and cupcakes (see their slideshow and meet their team of Maine wedding vendors by clicking here). So it's no surprise their signature wedding album is just as enjoyable to experience.
The couple had ordered an 8 by 8 signature album with a vegan cover (yes! in lieu of leather, my album company offers man-made faux leathers and suedes that are PVC free and eco-friendly) and I loved the look of it so much that I ordered a copy to show to prospective Samantha Warren Weddings couples, opting for a luxe leather cover in "wedgewood" blue with an accent of "opaline" white.
Luckily, they loved it too! Here is what they wrote to me upon receipt: "Pat and I wanted to thank you for the beautiful album! We LOVE the covering, it's really beautiful, and we love how thick the pages are - very cool. The quality of the images is obviously outstanding and we have such a beautiful book to keep forever now to remind us of our wonderful day. Thank you!"
Their album arrived right around the holidays and I wanted to get it to them asap, so I actually photographed the sample I am keeping to share with you here.
A closer look at the two-tone leather cover. Look how supple and lush the leather is.

Foil imprinting on the inside cover with the Samantha Warren Weddings studio name.

A look at the book with an open page, held together with its modern, square spine.

One of my favorite images from the wedding- it sets the scene so simply and captures the essence of a Maine wedding. Notice a barely-there gutter where the two pages come together to make a spread and the book folds, allowing me to design a book across two pages for a dramatic impact like this.

There are some places in the wedding story book where many images shown together have more of an impact (say wild dancing late into the night) but in cases of the ceremony, I often find one big image makes the most intimate impression, and packs a powerfully poignant punch.

Another favorite in black and white is framed so beautifully here by the blue and white of the book leather.

Notice the crispness and the sharpness of the colors here. Lindsay's beautiful blues pop off the page, making you feel like you are looking across the beach at her, and not at a picture of a printed picture.

And, here is a look at some of the layout files from the album. You are looking at the spreads (so two pages, each 8 x 8).
