Welcome to the blog of Samantha Warren Weddings!

My name is Samantha Warren (Sam will do and is actually preferred) and I am an award-winning Maine-based wedding photojournalist who owns/operates Samantha Warren Weddings out of a colorful cape in Portland where I live with my husband, Kyle, and our two pointers, Alder and Nikon.

I invite you to take some time to explore my blog, which is updated often with good news and great views (usually of people in love but habitually of our hounds). If you love what you see, please do leave a comment, or contact me for my availability.

All my best,
Sam

Albums, Canvasses, And Books, Oh My!

We've lived here in Portland just two months, but within weeks of our arrival on Kent Street, the UPS and FedEx deliverymen knew my name (and were already teasing me for ordering such heavy items). Seems not a day goes by when there aren't packages packed with prints, albums and canvasses being left at the front door. I pride myself on getting these goodies into the hands of my clients as soon as possible (less than a two month turnaround on average from the wedding day to when I ship a client their signature album) so I often don't even take the time to photograph the products before I send them off to their loving homes.

But seeing I haven't posted an product shots in (well) over a year, I thought it was time to share some updated ones. Now granted, the images of these products definitely don't do them justice. To feel one of these signature albums in your hands, or to see a canvas on the wall in your home, well, it's incredible according to my couples.

Some sample photo canvasses...

Photobucket
A close-up of a sample canvas featuring a favorite image from Lani and Steve's wedding in August at the York Harbor Inn. Bliss!

Photobucket
A close-up of another sample canvas, this one showcasing a shot from Nikki and Victor's wedding, also in August, at the Atlantic Oakes in Bar Harbor. The quality of these canvasses continues to amaze me- it's photograph sharp and wall-ready (no frame needed).

Photobucket
Another favorite canvas, this one of a tender moment between Emily and Liam at their July wedding at Greystone Manor.

Photobucket
Only when you get thisclose can you see the texture of the canvas. I love these!

Photobucket
Some signature album loveliness. A 12 by 12, two-toned leather with imprinting in silver. Yum!!! Here is what Emily just wrote me about the album: "I keep meaning to write this email because I feel like I need to say something profound and well-written about how much we love our wedding album. I just can't find the words to describe how beautiful it is and how much we treasure it now and surely will in the years to come. You've been just awesome to work with Sam, from very beginning to (dare I say it?) end (tear). I'm so impressed with all of the stuff you've posted lately- wow! Thank you times ONE MILLION for our gorgeous book, photos, and everything else!"

Photobucket
A tight shot of the imprinting.

Photobucket
The spine.

Photobucket
Another side of the spine and cover.

Photobucket
The complete cover. The colors on the album cover mirror the wedding day colors.

Photobucket
A look at the pages- notice how thick they are- durable so the album can be passed down from generation to generation.

Photobucket
Such a fun spread!

Photobucket
Details, details, details.

Photobucket
A closeup of a two-page spread showing the same shot as was on one of the canvasses I showed you above. This image was almost two feet across in the 12 by 12 album- wow!!!

Photobucket
Also a signature album, but with a total different look thanks to a different color and texture of leather. Each album is customized so that it completely reflects the couple and their wedding day. Said Bethany of the album upon receiving it: "We love, Love, LOVE IT! Wow...it is even more beautiful and plush than I imagined. It's the perfect display for the images we adore."

Photobucket
A nice spread of the entire wedding party- notice the subtle gutter that is the "signature" as I see it of these signature albums.

Photobucket
A closeup of an image in Bethany and Brian's signature album. This shot is one of my favorites of the summer, because it was taken just after dusk in heavy fog on the greens at Dunegrass and it become one of their most meaningful images.

Photobucket
This is a new product I am offering- called a modern book. It features thick pages and a printed photographic cover is less weighty and formal than a signature album. It's an upscale, modern version of a coffeetable book.

Photobucket
Here is a look at the pages- the cover of the book also has a photographic wrap-around dust jacket, which you can see at left.

Photobucket
A spread inside the modern book. Unlike the signature album, there is a slight gutter in the modern book.

Photobucket
Another look inside the modern book, which is a flush mount book.

The holidays are coming up quick, and now is the perfect time to begin thinking about ordering imagery to have in your home during holiday visits, or to give as gifts to parents and wedding party participants. In fact, ordering deadlines for some products are soon! I'll be sending out my fall newsletter in the next week or so with gift giving ideas, but duplicates of your wedding album or a DVD of your wedding slideshow make great gifts for parents, and several of my clients (including grooms!) have surprised their delighted spouses with a stunning photo canvas! And don't forget custom photo greeting cards! Contact me for ideas or to place your order!

Sam, these products are a perfect way to showcase the amazing images of these beautiful couples! Your work is inspiring as stand alone shots but when you are able to tell the whole story in one of the heirloom books it is truly moving.
