Cost of Being a Bridesmaid: $700+!!!

Just wanted to share this interesting/alarming article from U.S. News and World Reports today on the cost of being a bridesmaid. Apparently, that average cost is now around $700, and that excludes travel! Something to think about for sure, and if anyone has personal anecdotes about how the kept costs low for their girls and guys, feel free to share in the comments section.

I still remember being shocked (and feeling guilty) that my maid of honor's dress ended up costing more than my wedding dress because she needed alterations. If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd forgo the more traditional bridesmaid dresses, and instead encourage my girls to get a simple, sweet summer dress from here. (Heck, I wish I'd just gotten my dress from there too! I love the Sophia and at under $300 for the bride and under $200 for the bridesmaids, it's a total steal!)
